Chain of Command Recognition of the chain of command is long established in the PCGA. The chain extends from the Commandant to the most junior seaman. Each officer must understand that this system is not only mandated by regulations but is a form of a courtesy. This means respecting and being prompt in response to orders from seniors, and being fair and compassionate toward juniors while still exacting obedience from them.
